William Dalrymple (historian)

Doetoe (talk) 10:28, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Frey's role is omitted

The fourth paragraph of the section History and significance begins with this sentence:

"In the summer of 1986, Ken Ribet demonstrated that, just as Frey had anticipated, a special case of the Taniyama–Shimura conjecture (still not proved at the time), together with the now proved epsilon conjecture, implies Fermat's Last Theorem."

But nothing was mentioned about Frey until this sentence, and this sentence is the only place in the article that his name appears. (And in fact his first name is not mentioned at all.) Shouldn't he be given more credit? 2601:200:C000:1A0:D085:F516:582D:BF4 (talk) 20:25, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
