Marawara District (Pashto: منوره ولسوالۍ; Dari: ولسوالی منوره) is one of the 15 districts in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. It borders Sirkanay District to the west, Asadabad District to the north-west, Shultan District to the north-east and the Durand Line to the south. Marawara's population is not exactly known but government figures estimate it to be around 22,270 people,[1] all of them being ethnic Pashtuns. Manawara village is the center of the district and is located in its westernmost part.

The dominant tribe in the district is the Pashtun Mamond clan, currently headed by Malak Abdul Wali Khan Mamund following the death of his father,Malak Haji Hazrat Rahman.Malak Haji Hazrat Rahman also served as a Deputy Governor for kunar Province in Afghanistan and was the head of two districts tarkani tribe in kunar Province Marawara and shultan.Malak Haji Hazrat Rahman was a prominent Figure respected for his leadership,influenced both side of the Durandline.The mountainous terrain and the lack of arable land and irrigation systems is the main problem in this area. Marawara is also one of the few strategic districts in terms of its unique location and high mountainous terrains connecting Kunar to Pakistan via the Durand Line.Malak Abdul wali khan Mamund is a prominent Figure in Kunar Province Afghanistan respected for his Leadership and influence within the Mamund Tribe both side of the Durandline.He has been actively involved in politics, running as a candidate in 2018 Afghanistan Parliamentary election, currently he leads two Districts Within the Province,showcasing his significant impact on local governance and trible affairs.
