Svetlana Velmar-Janković

Xinyi Guo is a Chinese pianist^[1][2], composer, and arranger recognized for her compositions and piano arrangements that incorporate elements of traditional Chinese music alongside contemporary piano techniques.

In October 2023, Guo performed a piano recital at the Tirana Opera House in Albania^[1][2] as part of a state visit. Her repertoire included works that integrated Eastern and Western musical elements.

In February 2025, she established the Sino-British Ensemble^[3] in the United Kingdom, an initiative aimed at promoting cultural exchange through music. The ensemble debuted with the "Spring Sequence of New Sound" concert at Duke's Hall, Royal Academy of Music^[4], featuring a program that included both her original compositions and collaborative performances with international musicians.

Guo's compositions incorporate traditional Chinese melodies, pentatonic scales, and harmonic progressions that blend classical piano traditions with Chinese folk influences. Her work reflects an effort to merge different musical traditions, appealing to a diverse audience.
