Sint-Andreas Ostend is a Catholic secondary school found just outside Ostend in the town of Stene. Founded in 1953 and named after the apostle Saint Andrew. Classical Languages such as Latin and Greek can be studied here.[1]

In Belgium, the first 2 years of secondary school is 7 and 8. During these years, only ASO (The standard and top level of education in Belgium.) are available at Sind-Andreas Ostend.[2][3]

General
CLIL
CLIL is a program run by the school to encourage learning in different languages such as French and English. This is offered to students in year 7 and 8.[6]
Canteen
The school has a canteen that serves hot food every day. Along side that, students can buy premade sandwiches and soft drinks.
Science Labs and subject specific rooms.
The school is equipped with 1 Full chemistry room with a full pantry of chemicals and substances. While there are other science room fitted with gas ports for Bunsen Burners, they are not regularly used. Near by is the wood working shop, fitted with drills and other wood working equipment. A geography room and Biology room are found in the same corridor as well. There are 2 computer rooms, one on ground level and the other found on the first floor across from the chemistry lab.
Gymnasium
In a separate across from the year 8 and 9 playground is the Gym and canteen. The gym is 1,248.42 m² big, fitted with basket ball hoop and a all purpose terrain.
School trips
The school offers a trip to many large cities in western Europe such as: London, Paris, Berlin. All these trip are year specific. In grade 10, students are offered to their partner school in The Gambia to a school called Garba Jahumpa.[7]
