A Gudiña-Porta de Galicia is a railway station on the Madrid-Galicia high-speed rail line, located in the municipality of A Gudiña in the province of Ourense, Galicia, Spain. It is served by long-distance services.
Name
The station has the subtitle Porta de Galicia, Galician for gateway to Galicia, referring to its position on the railway line at the border of Galicia. This name also helps distinguish the station from A Gudiña station on the conventional line.
Location
The station is at kilometre point 382.613 of the Madrid-Galicia high-speed rail line, between the stations of Sanabria AV and Ourense.
History
The station was opened on 20 December 2021, at the same time as the Sanabria AV - Ourense section of the high speed line opened.[1]
In April 2023, Adif-Alta Velocidad (the infrastructure owner) opened a pedestrian path around 100 metres long for passengers to access the station from the settlement of A Gudiña.[2]
