This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Music. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Music|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Music. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

This was made in 2008 and nobody contributed a source since then. The existence of this song is definitely verifiable, and has occasional bursts of mentions that may indicate notability, but I tried doing a Google Books search and I only see cursory mentions, nothing substantial from e.g. historians or musicologists. Can someone else find some? If nothing of value can be found, maybe we can merge the gist of this under Ustaše#Symbols, and get rid of the copy&pasted lyrics, the existence of which seems to give undue weight to these fringe ideas? Appears to be a case of WP:BIO1E, and recent routine coverage due to his death, and he isn't even mentioned in Outside Lands. Could just be included in the history of Bonnaroo. ZimZalaBim talk 03:38, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. What would be the one event? Dying? His death isn't what they talk about, but he received obituaries from numerous highly reliable papers, including The New York Times as a non-local, a strong sign of notability. Someone who gets obituaries like that is simply going to have been covered before, and it's not like there isn't lots of coverage before that for decades [3] [4] [5]. There is tons of coverage for this guy. Clearly notable. PARAKANYAA (talk) 05:21, 5 July 2025 (UTC)

Redirect to Bonnaroo festival that already mentions Jonathan Mayers. —LastJabberwocky (Rrarr) 06:44, 5 July 2025 (UTC)- Changinging my choice for the redirect target to Superfly (company). —LastJabberwocky (Rrarr) 05:05, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to Superfly (company), a lengthy, comprehensive, well-written article about Mayers' company that put on Outside Lands, Bonnaroo, Vegoose, Great GoogaMooga, Cocktail Magic, Project Pabst, Clusterfest, Lost Lake, Grandoozy and other entertainment events. It discusses Mayers and Superfly's other three cofounders. I think Mr. Mayers was notable but only in the context of his work based on looking at 20+ articles from the The Wikipedia Library; a separate article adds nothing especially since, as the NY Times obituary put it:
"No information about Mr. Mayers’s upbringing or survivors was immediately available."
. The last paragraph of the Pitchfork obituary has a little additional information about Mayers' falling out with Superfly; that can be added to the Superfly article. --A. B. Article relies on two sources (one of which is a blog). I have searched for more reliable secondary sources on the article. There appears to be a lot of music blog coverage however this would not be suitable. There is an occasional interview, and primary sources however I do not think there is enough widespread secondary sources to meet the requirements of WP:music

- Delete - per nomination. None of the items on the list have their own article. There's plenty of links in the list, but they all link to the songs, EPs, or albums, and the subject is fan-made (music) videos. Most linked articles either 1) don't mention the fan videos or 2) probably shouldn't considering the unreliable/awful sourcing used. Sergecross73 msg me 17:54, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

- Which citations? One of the two blogspot posts, the WordPress page, perhaps the book titled Gobbledygook: A Dictionary That's 2/3 Accurate, 1/3 Nonsense? Otherwise, some stuff that's entirely about Tom Dyer, The Green Pajamas, and one album the label published. Trivial mentions about the company itself. The Rocket article is the only source presented that, imo, lends notability to the label. Mbdfar (talk) 17:15, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
- Keep There is also coverage in The News Tribune by Gillian G Gaar from 1988 [23] (some quotes from Tom Dyer, but info about the label too, in an article about many independent labels). I have found a couple of articles about Tom Dyer from 1986 and 2021 in The Olympian [24], [25] which include info about the label. There's also some coverage in The Strangest Tribe: How a Group of Seattle Rock Bands Invented Grunge [26], but I'm not sure how much - the index lists 4 page numbers, but the digital book has no page numbers and not all pages are visible, unfortunately. It looks like there is probably enough. If there isn't enough for an article about the record label, there probably should be one about Tom Dyer. RebeccaGreen (talk) 14:06, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
