Question from PASC01

Hi could you help get my article suitable to publish? Sorry I have not done this before the layout is confusing and it seems to have been rejected for various reasons. --PASC01 (talk) 09:13, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from AARVE045

hello how do we publish a edit --AARVE045 (talk) 13:02, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Archfusionpro

Hi, I’m reaching out for guidance on edits I’d like to propose for the Rebecca B. Alston Wikipedia article. Below is a summary of what I’ve compiled and what I’m hoping to accomplish:

1. Reintroduce a removed biographical sentence that states:
“She continued her studies as a post graduate student at New York University and attended the professional program modules of Harvard Graduate School of Design over several years.”

This information is currently supported by two published biographies from reputable institutions (Octavia Art Gallery and the Museum of Geometric and MADI Art), which are already cited in the article. While not independent of the subject, I believe they are suitable under WP:SPS and WP:ABOUTSELF, especially since the material is non-controversial.

2. Clarify that I have official Harvard GSD course records (1996–1999) that back up this information. I understand they cannot be cited directly due to WP:OR, so I’m only referencing them to reinforce the reliability of the gallery bios.

3. Request help resolving or removing the COI tag on the article. I’ve disclosed that I’m not being paid and have no formal connection to the subject, but I’ve been compiling reliable sources to improve the article in good faith. I’m also willing to avoid direct edits and work through Talk if needed.

4. Seek assistance adding inline citations to the subject’s exhibition history. I’ve collected dozens of citations from newspapers, museum websites, and press releases (e.g., a retrospective at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art), and want to improve the article’s sourcing and verifiability.

Can you review my Talk page proposal before I post it (if I have permission to share it)? Am I correctly handling the COI concern under Wikipedia policy? Is there a better way to phrase or present this material to avoid issues?

Thank you for your time and support! --Archfusionpro (talk) 19:56, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Archfusionpro and apologies for the late reply. In all occasions, your foremost resource should be discussing on the article talk page. If discussions there reach an impasse, a good place to go for resolution is the conflict of interest noticeboard, along with other forms of dispute resolution. Hope that helps, ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:37, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Letscreate

Hello Sir,

Thanks for being my mentor. Could you please let me know how I can change name space?

Please suggest --Letscreate (talk) 09:09, 13 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Letscreate, I'm not sure what you're asking. If you want a full explanation of namespaces, please see Wikipedia:Namespace. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:38, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Conflictmaster

Hello, how i can get the verified tag? --Conflictmaster (talk) 22:44, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Conflictmaster, I'm not sure what you mean. There is no such thing as a verified tag on Wikipedia. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:38, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
the verified account tag that lets you edit protected pages Conflictmaster (talk) 13:18, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I see. There are many different types of page protection Conflictmaster; you can get a full rundown on all of them at WP:PROTECT. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 15:35, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
ok thank you Conflictmaster (talk) 02:24, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Nancyandthetabithas

What do I do when I encounter a wikipedia article that appears to be written by AI? Specifically this one, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repatriation_of_Ghanaian_Students_Trapped_in_Ukraine_War --Nancyandthetabithas (talk) 21:19, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A great and pertinent question Nancyandthetabithas! You're right, that article has all the hallmarks of AI-generation. For the moment, I've draftified it, which essentially means I've removed it from the actual-article-area and put it into the developing-article-area. If you want to know how to do this, I can tell you, but it's a bit complicated and perhaps best saved until you're more experienced on Wikipedia? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 22:21, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Problematic Prep Building

Hello, @AirshipJungleman29, I just saw you reverts of my edits of just adding one article to prep sets, I was unaware of this rule. I apoligize and will stop doing it. History6042😊 (Contact me) 00:32, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

History6042, it's more about filling the picture and quirky hook slots, which are the ones most in need of an individual promoter's discretion, and not anything else. Thanks for taking it on board. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:34, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I will take this into account now, thank you for letting me know. History6042😊 (Contact me) 00:36, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
History6042, please also note that images "must be suitable, attractive, and interesting" and "must display well in the small size of the main page template"; the image you have chosen for prep 2 is not interesting, and the image you have chosen for prep 3 lacks in clarity and does not display well. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 11:26, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I will take this into consideration. History6042😊 (Contact me) 11:33, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
History6042, please take it into consideration by fixing your errors. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 20:14, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

Hi there. My DYK nom has been approved but it's just sitting there for some reason - do you mind promoting it? Thanks, JacobTheRox(talk | contributions) 21:35, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi JacobTheRox. There are currently over 230 nominations approved and ready for promotion. As your nomination was nominated only a few days ago, and some were nominated in April, it might be a while before a promoter gets to yours...or it may not, depending on how interesting it seems. Have patience. Best, ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 21:52, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

1924 Olympics

Hey, Airship, am not super active at DYK these days, but thanks for calling the Australia article out. I would say nice spot, but it's not like you needed a magnifying glass to see this one. Eddie891 Talk Work 16:59, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Analogue filter GAR closure

Hi, Could you explain the rationale for the delist-closure of the Analogue filter GAR? Neither the nominator nor anybody else entered into discussion after my last post there - or at any other time. Thanks. catslash (talk) 18:24, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Catslash; the GA-criteria-relevant issues brought up in the nomination statement were nor addressed, and neither you nor any other showed interest in resolving them. If you do want to work on the article, I can reopen the reassessmenr? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 22:43, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The Developing Countries WikiContest Gold Belt Buckle
The Developing Countries WikiContest Gold Belt Buckle

Hey AirshipJungleman29, the Developing Countries WikiContest will be returning for a second year, and sign-ups are now open! The contest will run from 1 July to 30 September, and the objective remains the same: improve as many articles relating to developing countries as you can to help fight systemic bias on Wikipedia.

In other news, we have a new face on the coordinator team this year: last year's sixth-place finisher, Arconning (talk · contribs)! The coordinators would like to extend a sincere thanks to Ixtal (talk · contribs), who is leaving the team, without whom the contest would not exist. After feedback from contestants last year, the scoring rules are undergoing some modifications; the new rules and a summary of the changes made will be posted to the contest talk page shortly.

If you have any questions, please leave a message on the contest talk page or contact one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), or TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs). June music

story · music · places

Too many (subjects) died, see my story and listen to Comfort ye (sung in German) - This hook about Bach, in which we have nothing to say about what he did but the poverty of his grave: that is so poor that we thought it would fit on his day of death, - see nom. I am not able to see anything "quirky" in anything about unmarked graves. Feeling foreign. - Vienna pics, anyway. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:24, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"Quirky" - "characterized by peculiar or unexpected aspects". Expected: one of the greatest composers in history was buried in a grand tomb and remembered for centuries. Unexpected: he was forgotten for 15 decades. I'd have like to see agreement from the nominator/article expander before approving the SOHA occasion. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 17:29, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The hook relies on readers already knowing the subject, no? How many do you "expect" to even know he was a composer? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:00, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'd expect a good proprtion to know the third most famous classical composer in history. Even if they don't the question still remains: "what happened after 150 years?" ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 18:27, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have been told (this year) that I can't rely on people knowing Puccini / La bohème. But never mind, I have to deal with too many great minds who are dying now to spend time arguing about the inconsistencies of DYK. Alfred Brendel looks - with a team of three at work - much better than when he died. Too late for him, though. Now back to Joel Shapiro. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:37, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Puccini is fairly borderline. La bohème firmly on the wrong side. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 22:41, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Did you know nominations/Chelsea Wolfe (BMX)

Hi, I see you have promoted Template:Did you know nominations/Chelsea Wolfe (BMX). While the hook you have promoted wasn't contested, you haven't struck out the contested hook nor waited for the requested re-review after the first one was deficient. The main risk is that someone will swap one hook for another one without realising that said hook is not correct. See WP:DYKPBI, "You are required to check ..."

  • .. that the nomination has been approved. (a re-approval was asked for and didn't happen yet)
  • .. that no outstanding issues raised in the nomination remain relevant. (issues are still outstanding obviously)
  • Furthermore, the hook is wrong, which a renominator might have spotted, or which you could have spotted. I'll leave it as an exercise for the renominator (after you have undone your move to prep and reopened the DYK nom) to spot the error. I'm rather tired of this whole DYK, I have to say. That will teach me to get involved at the nom stage and not wait for the DYKERRORS stage. DYK, still as disfunctional as ever it seems. Fram (talk) 07:30, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fram, the hook was approved in this edit. There is no requirement to strike out an unapproved hook nor wait for a re-review of a hook that has not been questioned. If you (or any other) see issues at any point between now and the main page appearance, feel free to point them out. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 07:53, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and the same edit also approved Hook 0, which was incorrect, so the review was deficient. Striking out incorrect hooks is standard behaviour during a rereview, which didn't happen. I'll reopen the nom and remove it from Prep. Please do better next time. Fram (talk) 08:00, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fram, try again; this time you can drop the condescending tone, the incorrect assumptions, and the juvenile "I know something you don't!" attitude. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 11:55, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and the same edit also approved Hook 0, which was incorrect, so the review was deficient. Striking out incorrect hooks is standard behaviour during a rereview, which didn't happen. I have reopened the nom and removed it from Prep. Please do better next time. Fram (talk) 12:06, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see you reverted me? If you can't spot the error then you could a) ask or b) decide you are unfit to review DYKs. Fram (talk) 12:08, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fram, standard behaviour (for adults at least) is to act with basic courtesy. In your case, this meant providing the error you have found; you could have done so at the nomination page, at WT:DYK, on this talk page, or even in an edit summary. If you can't be bothered to do even that, you could a) decide you are unfit to edit Wikipedia, or b) grow up. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 12:12, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You couldn't care for the indication that a re-review was needed but closed the DYK nom anyway. Don't lecture me on standard behaviour. Putting the hook back in the preps while you knew there was an error with it (unless you think I'm lying) is really teaching me how to edit as a responsible person though. You want to be a prep builder, you're so good at it that you don't even have to follow the basic steps, fine: then show me that you can do the most basic checks for errors. Fram (talk) 12:17, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, I could post the same thing I wrote above again, but that would be pretty pointless, wouldn't it? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 12:26, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Or you could show that you have learned anything. At least you seem to have stopped putting it back into prep, I guess that's progress. Fram (talk) 12:31, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I guess? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 12:36, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
