JBREC (Joginpally B.R. Engineering College) is an engineering college in Hyderabad which is UGC Autonomous. It was established in 2002 by Sri. J. Bhaskar Rao. It is best for excellence in technology and infrastructure. An admiration in the field of Engineering education, Joginpally B.R.Engineering College, a part of the visionary Sri J.Bhaskaro Rao’s accomplishment, observed its inception in the year 2002 with the lofty aim of providing quality professional education and meeting the rising expectations of the student community in Telangana. J.B.R Educational Society has been working relentlessly towards the objective of achieving excellence in the fields of Engineering, Medicine, Management, Hospitality, and Information Technology.
J.B.R.E.C was sponsored and established by J.B.R. Educational Society that had been a wide canopy, created by progressive, dynamic, and productive management, for a lot of institutes marked excellence in academic records. JBREC is a UGC Autonomous College, Approved by AICTE and an UGC Autonomous Institution. The college is accredited by NAAC with “A+” Grade, and a CGPA of 3.45 on a scale of 4. The college also ranked “151-300” in NIRF innovation ranking 2023.
General information
It has an intake of more than 700 students. Being established in the early years of the 21st century.
Location and campus
The college is in the woods in the outskirts of Hyderabad, in the vicinity of the village Yenkapally, Ranga Reddy, about 18 Km from Mehdipatnam, on the Highway to Vikarabad, and is well connected to the twin cities and at much accessible distance from the Hyderabad Railway station and Hyderabad Airport. Apart from the basic facilities available within the campus, students can approach the city shops and services with in 30 minutes drive from the college.
History
J. B. Educational Society was formed in 1993 by J. Bhaskar Rao to provide professional education in English. JBREC was sponsored and established by J.B.R. Educational Society. It is recognized by AICTE and an Autonomous Institution.
Facilities
Library
The central Library, JBREC Library is housed in an area of about 1410 Sqm. and organized into various sections, which are manned by professionally qualified staff.
We, JBREC, HYDERABAD believe in what Curl Trawn has said Be a little careful about your library. Do you foresee what you will do with it ? Very little to be sure. But the real Question is , What it will do with You ? You will come here and get books that will open your eyes , and your ears , and your curiosity, and turn you inside out or outside in. For that purpose we have rich collection Apx.52000 volumes in Engineering and MBA to the need of about 2000 members (both staff and students). The Central library of college is situated in the heart of campus which is easily accessible by every visitors and readers.
The Library has adopted open access systems which enables the readers to go to the book shelves and select the books and other resources to themselves .All the books are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification and arranged in the classified order on shelves and are catalogued according to AACR II. Latest news about college is preserved in the library in the form of clipping services. To keep its readers abreast with the latest developments in Engineering and Technology, the library is subscribing to 100 National and 20 International Journals in Print form Having separate reading hall for reticent to its readers. Besides this we have 6 departmental libraries, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical and communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information & Technology, Science &Humanities and Master of Business Administration. We are maintain the SC/ST Book bank (volumes; 1000) with assistance of T.S Social Welfare Department.
Library services
The library provides both demanding and anticipatory library services to the users. The services provided are as follows:
- OPAC Service: The bibliographical information of library are made available through OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). The basic searches like author, title, author and title, keyword, publisher, subject heading, call no. etc are introduced.
- Digital Library Service : Library has a separate digital Library . Apart from books it has a huge collection of Audio video material, CDs and DVDs.
- Newspaper Clipping Service: Latest news about college is preserved in the library in the form of clippings.
- Referral Service : Referral service is also provided by Professionally Qualified staff of library.
- Cataloguing Service : All the books are catalogued according to AACR -II.
- Lending service: Books are issued to all students and faculty of the institute. The numbers of books issued are based on the category of the user. Students can keep the books for 14 days.
- Reference service: Reference service is provided for queries from the available reference sources. Sometimes the users may be directed to sources available in libraries of other institutes.
- Current awareness service: This service is provided through the display of new books in new arrivals rack.
- Text Book Service: Important and prescribed text books are kept in the text book section and also these books are issued for reference against the library membership card.
- Book bank service: Library has a separate book bank section. The undergraduates are issued one book from this section for the whole semester.
- Photocopying service: Journal articles and other materials that are not lent out can be photocopied for a nominal charge.
- Inter library loan service: Books/journal articles that are not available in our library can be procured from DELNET or other libraries of the JBGEI.
- CDROM service: Library also maintains the CD’s received along with the books. The users can get them copied.
- Newspaper service: Library subscribes 06 daily newspapers for the benefit of its users.
- Question paper service: Question papers of all the engineering examinations conducted by JNTU University.
- Internet service: All the reading halls of the central library are enabled and students can use their laptops in the reading halls for accessing the online documents subscribed by the library.
Health center
J.B.R.E.C encompasses a health center that could provide all the necessary first-aid and medical kits along with the necessary guidance from a medical assistant. The Institution has as a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Bhaskar General Hospital (established by J.B.Group of Management) for medical and diagnostic services both as out patients and in patients.
Street Cause - an NGO
The college also has a few students carrying out regular social events, through the organization 'Street Cause'. Every month, the students have a schedule chalked out and events are conducted. These events aim at tackling social issues in the society. Some of the events include, visiting orphanages and interacting with the children there, providing amenities to the down-trodden and regular distribution of food.
Student Activity Centre (SAC)
The college has a Student Activity Centre which is totally student-oriented. It is governed by the students studying in the college and is mainly concerned with the organizational activities of fests in the college. This centre is where students organize meetings to come to a consensus.
NCC
About NCC
The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization, which recruits students from high schools, colleges and universities all over India. These students are called cadets after joining the organization. This is the biggest organization in India, where about 12 lakhs students are enrolled every year. They are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps. National Cadet Corps in Joginpally B.R. Engineering College was started in the year 2020. There are about 107 cadets in army wings.
Motto of NCC
The motto of NCC is Unity and Discipline (Ekta aur Anushasan).
The need for having motto for the Corps was discussed in the 11th Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting held on 11 Aug 1978. The mottos suggested were “Duty and Discipline”; “Duty, Unity and Discipline”; “Duty and Unity”; “Unity and Discipline”. The final decision for selection of “Unity and Discipline” as motto for the NCC was taken in the 12th CAC meeting held on 12 Oct 1980. The NCC is a responsive and continuously evolving organization. Its activities are guided by certain core values that we endeavor to instill among all ranks of the NCC.

“I do hereby solemnly promise that I will serve my motherland most truly and loyally and that, I will abide by the rules and regulations of the National Cadet Corps. Further, under the command and control of my commanding officer I will participate in every camp most sincerely and wholeheartedly.”
Pledge
“We, the cadets of the national cadet corps, do solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India. We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizens of our nation. We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings.”
Sports
In JBREC, students are encouraged to involve in physical activity either in college or off-site. Sports room is available for students for various recreational activities. Team games are offered along with other sports. Sports events are conducted on a regular basis to promote various sports.
Exam Cell
The examination branch of the college is a confidential section with the responsibility of smooth conduct of examinations for all the courses and maintenance of student records etc., The Examination branch is headed by the chief superintendent of the examination branch and ably assisted by Incharges of Examinations with supporting staff. Conduction of all examinations is the main activity cell. The exam cell also coordinates with the JNTUH regarding all matters related with examination. The Incharge also coordinates with the Principal in regards to all examination matters. Any information either received or required to be sent to the University are being dealt with in the cell.
The major activities of Exam Cell are:
- Any Circular, Guideline, Office Order, Notification received by the College are processed in the cell, reply thereof prepared and after Principal’s signature dispatched to the University.
- Examination Notices received from the University are duly served to all concerned.
- The Notices for University indicating details regarding Fee Collection, the last date of fee Collection, modalities of payments of fine etc.
- Preparation of smooth conduct of Examinations, preparation of Time table, Invigilation duty chart, Seat allotment in the Examination halls etc.
- During the Examination time, proper staff mobilization, assigning the duty as per the duty chart already prepared.
- After completion of examination, distribution of Answer books to the concerned teachers and receiving the answer books and award list, and preparing in the desired format to send them to University.
- After the results of various examinations received from the University, distribution of marks sheets to Students.
- The cell analyzes all examination results and in consultation with the Principal, prepares the report thereof for submission to appropriate authorities for follow up action.
