Jurong Central is a Single Member Constituency (SMC) for the Parliament of Singapore. Located in the West Region, it was created from Jurong Group Representation Constituency (GRC), with some electorate absorbed from Yuhua SMC. It will first be contested in the 2025 Singaporean general election.[1]

History

Jurong Central SMC was first announced by the Elections Department (ELD) on 11 March 2025. It was split from Jurong GRC, which had been the constituency with the best performance for the incumbent People's Action Party (PAP) during the 2015 and 2020 general elections.[1] The new SMC was created to ensure that the newly created Jurong East–Bukit Batok GRC (which itself was created from the split of Jurong GRC) remains represented by five members of parliament.[2] When newly established, Jurong Central had a total of 29,620 registered voters, with 25,668 from Jurong GRC and the remaining from the to-be-abolished Yuhua SMC.[1]
