Torrens then went on to write military romance, romantic suspense, romantic drama, contemporary romance novels, and poetry books, which have all been received well. The success of Amelia's Story led the author to the BBC RADIO WM 95.6 FM, in 2014/15 on the Adrian Goldberg breakfast show, where she lent her time as a weekly Headline Reviewer for 12 months.

A quote from the author,

It can be quite daunting discussing the day's headlines knowing thousands of people are tuning in... You never know when you are going to mess up! Thankfully, with lady luck on my side, I managed to wing it....

Following on from BBC Radio, Torrens has since been interviewed by, Award-Winning Radio DJ, Graham Torrington on the late-night show at BBC Radio WM and David Driver Author & DJ at Drystone Radio FM. Most recently, Torrens was fortunate to be interviewed By American Radio Host/author/actor, Cyrus Webb at ConversationsLive.com Radio for Mississippi.  Torrens is very driven and throws herself into all the projects that she takes on. She is a full-time author.

A quote authored by Torrens,

Don't tell me to reach for the stars when there is a whole universe out there....

That is how she walks through life....

Last but not least, Torrens coined, and shall always be remembered by, the following maxim:

Leave footprints behind worth following.

Early Life

Dawn G Torrens's childhood was one shrouded in poverty. She spent the majority of her childhood being shipped from one children’s home to another. This is where she developed her love for reading and writing. Each children’s home had a sparse library filled with donated books. Torrens would spend countless hours working her way through the titles available, The Secret Seven by Enid Blyton, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, Anne Frank’s Diary and anything available by Charles Dickens. Charles Dickens was an author that Torrens could resonate with, he was a poor boy that came from nothing and became one of the best known authors in the world. This inspired Torrens who dreamed of becoming an author one day. With her journal always close by, she commenced her writing journey penning poetry of her feelings during her dark times as a way to alude her reality at that time and eventually graduating to short stories. During her childhood, Torrens was uprooted from one children’s home to another, eight in total. She spent her final fours years from age 12 to 16 in the notorious, Bryn Alyn Community Children’s Homes in North Wales, now dubbed the ‘Homes from Hell.’

Torrens had a private motto as a child growing up in the state care system,

“One day my destiny will be in my own hands and then I can begin my life.’

And true to her own motto, she did just that. Never allowing her past to define her future.
