English: In Meerut, the puri (shown in the picture) are called Batashe. Batashe is a deep-fried crisp flatbread. These in the pciture are made from sooji/rava. These are served with flavored water. It is a very popular street food in India. In Meerut, they are usually filled with Aloo (potatoes), while the filling is different in different parts of India.
